End of Year Awards Picnic and General Meeting
There are actually 2 purposes of the picnic, awards and a club general meeting. The General meeting is required by our by-laws to elect the board for the next year. This will take roughly 30-40 mins.
DATE - Thursday June 11 starting at 5:30 pm PLACE - Shelter #1 at the Peterborough Zoo. EVENT - Social BBQ, Awards and Annual General Meeting
We can have up to 10 board members, currently we are shorthanded and can use new members. Especially considering that a several members been on the board for many years and looking other opportunities. The elections will elect members to the board and not specific positions. The board will then appoint elected members to the specific positions.

Swimming to Win; Winning for Life!
The YMCA Swim Club was formed in 1939 by Gord Minty. Minty coached and developed several of his swimmers into Canadian Champions. Among his swimmers was Allan Marshall after whom the Trent University pool is named.
In 1980, the Peterborough YMCA Swim Club moved from the "Y" to the new Allan Marshall Memorial Pool at Trent University. The club's name was changed to the Trent Swim Club and was part of the Eastern Ontario Swim Region. In 1985, the club joined the Huronia Region, and quickly broke most of the region's records.

The club has developed provincial record holders, university team captains, NCAA qualifiers and consistently produces swimmers ranked among the top 10 in the country. In the latest National Rankings the club was in 39th position out of more than 225 clubs in the country.
Throughout its history, the Club has had swimmers at all levels of competition - from beginners participating in development swim meets to those competing at national and even international events. Over the last 60-some years, the Peterborough YMCA/Trent Swim Club has consistently proven the truth behind its moniker: The Best Small Club in Canada.
