April and May 2010 – Congratulations!

Senior ~ April

Cynthia Pammett:

Cynthia had 100% attendance for the month of April. She trained very well focusing on technique and regaining her aerobic fitness. At the Division 2 Team Championships she took 4 Gold and 1Bronze medal as well as contributing to the women’s senior relays. Great work Cynthia!

Senior ~ May

Esteban Pinzon:

Esteban had 100% attendance for the month of May. Esteban also spent that month training very well. He was excited about pushing himself in practice and seemed to get faster every day. At the Festival of Spring he narrowly missed the provincial standard in the 50 free and the 200 free. At our regional championships he qualified for Provincials in the 800 free. Nice job Esteban!

Junior ~ April

Madison Monahan:

Madison also had 100% attendance for the month of April. She backed up her attendance with hard work on focus on technique. All of this appears to have paid off, she had 100% best times at Victor Davis meet in Guelph and 100% best times at Team Champs! Awesome stuff Madison!

Junior ~ May

Shannon Shillinglaw:

Shannon had 100% attendance for the month of May as well. Shannon has been working diligently on improving her stroke technique and her training speed. All this translated into some great swims at the Festival of Spring in Nepean including attaining a “B” standard in the 200 IM and placing 6th in the 400 IM! Way to go Shannon!

AG3 ~ April

Sarah Galvin:

Sarah continues to be one of the most consistent in attendance. For the month of April she made a couple extra practices giving her 109% attendance. Her renewed focus on stroke technique and refining the little things (turns, streamlines) also contributed to her having 100% best times at Victor Davis meet in Guelph and. 60% best times at Team Champs. Way to go Sarah!

AG3 ~ May

Sadie Bartoli:

Sadie is another swimmer with 100% attendance this month. Sadie has been doing a great job in workouts, focusing on skill improvement in all her strokes and also on improving her training times. At the Festival of Spring Sadie made some very big improvements including an 18 second drop in her 200 free and moving from no provincial standards to five “D” times! Great work Sadie!

AG – 2 ~ April

Brooklynn Davis:

Congratulations to Brooklynn for achieving Aprils swimmer of the month.  Brooklynn has had a fantastic season.  She is constantly pushing herself to improve, whether that be at dryland training or in the pool. Brooklynn is not afraid to take charge of the lane she is swimming in.  She will go on a faster pace time, try a different stroke than her normal freestyle or backstroke, and she is also willing to go at the back of the lane to work on her technique.  Her leadership is contagious to the other swimmers, who follow Brooklynn's lead in the pool.  Congratulations Brooklynn.  Keep up the great work.

AG2 ~ May

Kate Lanctot:

Congratulations to Kate for achieving May's swimmer of the month.  Kate has had a fantastic season.  Her attendance has made steady improvements as well as her drive to compete and be a better swimmer has also improved.  She is not afraid to ask questions with regards to the set we are doing or questions about her technique and how she can make improvements.  Kate has no problem stepping up to lead the lane during workouts or during dryland training.  At the recent development meet one of Kate's goals was to qualify for long course regionals.  Kate achieved her goal and will compete in June at long course regionals. Congratulations Kate.  Keep up the great work

AG1 ~ April

Laura Ferguson:

Congratulations to Laura for achieving Aprils swimmer of the month.  Throughout the season Laura has worked very hard and has had positive results.  Her attendance has improved greatly throughout the year.  Laura's focus on her underwater work, breakouts and turns are noticed by her team mates.  Her butterfly is beautiful to watch.  She is moving towards the front of the lane to be a leader of the group.  All of this hard work is going to pay off at the development meet in Barrie.  Congratulations Laura.  Keep up the great work.

AG1 ~ May

Isobel Root:

Congratulations to Isobel for achieving May's swimmer of the month.  Isobel joined the swim club in January from swim school.  She has had a great season so far.  Her confidence, leadership, and knowledge of the sport have been constantly developing throughout the year.  This is evident in her attendance levels, dryland training and time in the pool.  All of her strokes, turns and underwater work have had major improvements.  Isobel's hard work has paid of as she had 100% best times at the Barrie development meet in May.  Congratulations Isobel.  Keep up the great work!
